Will there be areas for my guests with with accessibility needs?

PARKING:
Accessible parking is available all around Beasley Coliseum. For the easiest access, enter the Coliseum through the north entrance off Orchard Drive, where accessible parking spaces and a drop off area are located.

SEATING:
Limited seating is set aside in the three rows closest to the concourse level. If you would like to utilize this area, please limit the number of family and friends who sit with you to 3 individuals. This will provide adequate seating for all who attend.

Wheel chair users are encouraged to find an usher as soon as entering the concourse at Beasley Coliseum. They are well-informed on seating options for those with wheel chairs, and can help you locate those spaces quickly. Commencement ushers will be wearing black vests.

While Beasley Coliseum offers wheelchair access seating, it does not have wheelchairs available. Wheelchairs, walkers, and other aids that will not be in use during the ceremony should be labeled with personal identification. They will be placed in a storage area near your seats as required by law for emergency purposes. Ask a Commencement usher for assistance.

CAPTIONING & SIGN LANGUAGE:
During all ceremonies, real-time captioning will appear on a large screen behind the stage and on all four sides of the center Jumbotron scoreboard.

Should you require an American Sign Language interpreter, please contact the WSU Access Center at least three weeks in advance of the ceremony at 509-335-3417.

Is there a dress code?

There is not a dress code for guests. Graduates are encouraged to wear the official WSU cap & gown to participate in the ceremony. We encourage students to wear appropriate footwear. While there are no restrictions on footwear, be mindful that you will be walking on many different surfaces and navigating stairs or a ramp.

Will concession stands be open?

Yes, beverages and snacks will be available for purchase.

Will the ceremony be live-streamed?

Yes, each ceremony will be livestreamed on the Homepage.

Will there be a program book available at the ceremony?

In an effort to reduce our environmental impact, we will no longer be printing physical commencement programs. Instead, a digital version of the program will be available online for easy access. A link will be shared to download the book in the days approaching Commencement. We will also provide QR codes posted around Beasley Coliseum so you and your guests may download it while at the ceremony.

Please note the program is not a listing of those attending the ceremony but a listing of those that applied to graduate for Spring 2026 by the deadline set by the Registrars’ Office.

View the 2026 Spring Program here.

What about photos?

With the substantial number of graduates, there is no room on the event floor for personal photographers. Sit back and enjoy the celebration as our professional photographers capture your graduate as they cross the stage and receive their diploma cover. Professional commencement photography will be provided. Each graduate will be photographed against the official WSU backdrop, with the dean of their college.

We have partnered with Pro Pics to take professional portraits of all graduates during the ceremonies. Photos will be available for purchase after the ceremony. There is no cost to have your photo taken and no obligation to purchase. If you would like to receive your photo proofs, please go to www.WSUphotos.com to submit your information. If you have any questions regarding photos, contact Pro Pics at support@propicsusa.com.

Where can I order t-shirts?

Commemorative t-shirts and sweatshirts are available for pre-purchase here. All online orders will be available for pickup on-site the day of the event. To retrieve your order, please stop by our booth located conveniently at the entrance to the event before the ceremony begins.
