Line up at 9:30 AM
The Day Before Commencement:
Students will receive a pre-printed card that will be used to announce their name during the diploma march. They must pick this card up prior to the ceremony line-up on Saturday and have it with them during the ceremony.
These cards will be available on Friday, August 7, at the Beasley Coliseum main ticket office (near section 14 on the main concourse) between 9AM and 6PM and on Saturday, May 8 starting at 9AM.
It is highly recommended that they pick it up on Friday to avoid long lines on Saturday. They do not need an ID and yes, someone else can pick it up for them.
If this is your first time to campus and you have not been to the Coliseum before here is some directional help.
The Day of Commencement:
Commencement is on August 8th!
Graduates that are unable to navigate stairs please contact the Events Office at firstname.lastname@example.org or call (509) 335-6674 for special assembly instructions.
General university commencement guests who have a disability or difficulty walking will find easier access if they enter the Coliseum through the north entrance off Orchard Drive, where some handicap parking and a drop off area is located. This will place the guest on the concourse level at sections 30-31-32. Handicap parking is available all around the coliseum. Limited seating is set aside in the first three rows of seating from the concourse level. We ask those who utilize this area to limit the number of family and friends that sit with them to 3 individuals. This will provide adequate seating for all who attend. The coliseum does have wheelchair access seating available but will not have wheelchairs available. Wheelchairs, walkers and other aids that will not be in use during the ceremony, should be labeled with personal identification and will be placed in a storage area near your seats. This is required by law for emergency purposes. Ask a commencement usher for assistance.
Real time captioning will be used during all ceremonies.
Should a guest require an American Sign Language Interpreter, please contact Disability Services (Access Center) 509-335-3417 by April 15.
All students must make sure to have their reader cards before lining up. Visitors can enter the coliseum concourse through all doors.
