Fall Commencement Checklist WSU Commencement Ceremonies

Please remember that the steps to  participate in Commencement are different from applying to graduate. To learn more about applying to graduate, please see our Steps to Graduation or contact the Office of the Registrar at (509) 335-9506.

Commencement refers to the ceremony, officiated by the President of the University, which is an opportunity for the students to share the excitement and importance of their academic accomplishments with peers, family, and friends. You must apply to graduate and register to walk in order to participate in a Commencement ceremony. Traditional caps and gowns are recommended. For more information on Commencement, please contact The Commencement Office at (509) 335-6674 or commencement@wsu.edu.

IMPORTANT Participation in the Commencement ceremony is not a guarantee or an indication of degree completion. To officially graduate from WSU, students must satisfy all university, college, and departmental requirements for the specific degree.
